"J Spaceman is set to embark on a rare acoustic 9-date tour of the UK this Autumn. The dates will showcase some of the songs from the forthcoming Spiritualized album as well as tracks from the Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized catalogues and songs from other artists. He will be accompanied on all dates by a string quartet, gospel singers and Spiritualized guitarist Doggen on Fender Rhodes."

It took 7 hours to get there, and 9 hours to drive back, thanks to the traffic and it being a English bank holiday, It was one of the best three days me and Sharon have had, The two Fish acoustic shows we went to were excellent, and the electric show at the Corn exchange was something special, It was great to hear Jo McCafferty, who i thought was excellent and the three cd's i bought of her's helped the long travel home, It was nice to see a mixture of people there, Young and Older, male and female, It was my first convention and it won't be the last, Holland here we come!!!. NB, Don't mess with a man and his Penguin.

A couple of gigs for me this month....
The J Spaceman gig sold out before i managed to get a ticket but luckily for me he added 1 extra date..... in Nottingham!!!! Was well chuffed when i read that. Anyway i've got a ticket now so i'm a happy man. I also got a Raconteurs ticket, only heard a couple of songs but have liked what i've heard.
Next on my list is are The Aliens (half of The Beta Band) who are playing The Social (Notts) in November, they're gigs sound quite chaotic, need to get my arse in gear + actually get a ticket though!

Croydon Thanks
At last we had a reasonable crowd, We had three acts that were all different in musical styles, Even though you could put them under the Prog umbrella, We hope to have more Prog nights at the Cartoon, One is being planned at the moment, It's down to everyone to support these nights to make them a success, I don't work for any bands or the Cartoon, I am just a fan that wants to see live Prog in South London, So a big Thankyou to all those that came along to Croydon, Because of you we can have more Prog nights, Mick.
;D
